Hi, I’m Kristi.
I’ve always loved travel, but over the years I became just as interested in what made a trip enjoyable as I was in where I was going.
Often, it wasn’t the big things. It was the pace of the days, how easy it was to get from one place to another, whether I had enough time and energy for what I had planned, or whether spending a little more made the trip noticeably easier.
My own preferences changed too. The way I travel now isn’t exactly the way I travelled years ago, and that made me much more aware of how personal travel can be.
I also kept thinking about the people who want to travel but don’t necessarily see themselves in the way travel is often presented. They may be new to travel, returning to it after a long time, travelling differently than they once did, or simply unsure whether a particular trip is realistic for them. I wanted to help people see that travel could still be possible for them, and to help people enjoy the trips they do take as much as possible.
That is where The Confident Explorer began.
There is already so much excellent travel information available, and I still learn from it. What I wasn’t finding was something that helped bring it together without adding to the overwhelm, stayed relevant during the trip itself, and helped people carry what they learned into future trips.
This website, and The Confident Explorer Method™, grew from that idea: bringing the information, decisions and preparations around a trip together in a way that helps travellers make sense of what matters for them.
Whether you’re still wondering what travel could look like for you or already planning your next trip, I hope you find something here that helps.
